چکیده
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has become a global health problem. In 2019, it was related to 2.53% of general mortality (2.35-2.66%); in the same year, Latin America, CKD reached 5.25% (4.92-5.49%), with an annual increase 3.37%, proving increased 102% between 1990 and 2017. A nephrology specialty Mexico recently fulfilled its first 50 years. Despite being relatively young, nephrologists are interested “new” sub-specialties learning novel techniques problem-solving skills. Our group is our country focus solely exclusively on comprehensive VA care we want position ourselves as Mexican interdisciplinary focused vascular access (GIMEXAV).

Over a seven year period from 1982 to 1989,3337 conduits were created in 3137 patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) as access for chronic dialysis. These included 2690 side-to-side arteriovenous fistulae (A VF), 168 end-to-side A VFs, 10 autogenous vein grafts, 51 homogenous frozen vein grafts, 109 polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) grafts, 209 emergency external arteriovenous shunts, t...
متن کاملHemodialysis Vascular Access Dysfunction
A successful functioning vascular access is the “lifeline” for a hemodialysis patient. Hemodialysis vascular access dysfunction is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in hemodialysis patients1-3. Improving vascular access outcomes remains an ongoing challenge for nephrologists, vascular access surgeons, and interventionists. In arteriovenous fistulas (AVF) and grafts (AVG), the most common...
متن کامل[Vascular access for hemodialysis].
Reference is made to a personal series of vascular accesses for haemodialysis on 273 patients aged 6 months to 70 yr. During the course of 12 years, 533 operations were performed: 109 cannulations of the saphena, 152 by-pass, 251 arteriovenous fistulae (including 22 on patients under 10 yr of age), and 21 "difficult accesses". An assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of the techniques ...
متن کاملVascular Access for Hemodialysis
Patients with acute kidney failure (AKF) and chronic kidney failure (CKF) require an appropriate vascular access for hemodialysis [1]. Vascular access is needed to allow blood flow through an extracorporeal circulation system with a blood pump connected to a hemodialysis monitor driving the blood through a dialysis filter (dialysator). Satisfactory levels of blood flow range between 300 and 400...

The predominant form of vascular access currently in the United States is the polytetrafluoroethylene (PT...
